A new month, good luck to all

It is now August and it looks like we maybe digging ourselves out of these tough economic times. People started saving money again, and in New England it is reported that people are saving about 5% of their income. I was always told to try to save 10%, but apparently the 5% savings is adversely is effecting the local economy up there. Apparently, we live in a country that manufactures little, and we have become a country who provides services. It is tough to export services, so we must figure something to export besides our debt. What a beautiful day, to cold call.

The sun is out, the birds are singing what a great day to get out and cold call. No one likes to cold call, but whichever profession you are in, it can be effective. I have gotten phone calls six months to a year later which lead to some of my biggest clients. Just keep trying and make contact often. Once every 1-3 months they will at least admire your dedication and when the opportunity arises you will be ready and hopefully on their mind.

Wow, has it been hot & humid. Chance of afternoon showers everyday. Seems like it is a little of a late start to the heat and humidity. Well try to stay cool, I know I will be.

The guests are gone and boy what a mess.

After the party, all is quite, you sit on your sofa and then you see it. That big spot where someone had an “accident” and forgot to mention it. Never fear, most spots can come out with immediate attention and a trained professional. Time is important! Do not use any OTC cleaners with teflon, they will only set the stain if they do not remove it.

Have a safe and stain free Fourth, Spotting tip

I hope everyone has a safe fourth of July. When someone inevitably spills something on your carpet, upholstery, or your favorite shirt don’t panic, wiping off a stain may make it more difficult to remove. NEVER SCRUB it will only push a spot deeper. Instead, take a warm glass of water add 2 drops of dawn dish soap, dampen a white towel with solution. Now remove any debris for spot and blot with wet towel til no more color transfers to the towel. Then, blot with a dry towel til dry. If the spot does not come out please give us a call. In our experience some popular carpet spotters with teflon are setting stains. please avoid these products.
